Dear Donors, Friends and Family,

We are back from Ghana!

First, we would love to say a big thank you to all our donors. Ghana would not be possible without your love and support. Next, Ghana was PHENOMENAL! We collaborated wonderfully with schools and non-profits alike and we are so blessed to have made an impact in Sedinam, Eline and Isabelle’s home country. Let us share some of our most prized times in Ghana!

This trip was special because all four co-founders reunited in Ghana for the first time in seven years. One of our ambassadors, Isabelle Quaynor, was also able to join us for one of our projects. We made a positive impression on so many young minds including our own.

The Tarkwa Breman Girls’ School was a personal favorite. The school is 203m/328km from Accra, built by Shadrack Osei Frimpong who grew up in the village and is the founder of the non-profit, Cocoa360. Shadrack recognized his female peers dropped out of school early, ending up pregnant or on the streets. With $100,000 prize money from the University of Pennsylvania, he built a school dedicated to girls and a clinic in his village. We were honored to fill their library with books.

With the arts and crafts project led by Eline and I, we were able to work closely with the girls to expand their creativity, while Sedinam and Azzarrée read to the younger children, inspiring them to put the donated books to use. When we first started this foundation a repeated question we received was “how are you going to ensure the donated books are put to proper use?” and I believe that this question was answered wonderfully with the work we did at Tarkwa Breman. We were personally able to speak with all the students and not only encouraged them to use these books but also made sure it resonated with them individually, which you can tell it did with their bubbling enthusiasm!

This fantastic trip would not have been possible without all YOUR support and donations! So once again thank you so much for your guidance and encouragement. We fully appreciate it. We can’t wait to share our final Ghana Report by Sedinam Asase with you!
