Growing up in Nigeria with my African American grandmother, a devoted librarian, our home was a sanctuary of stories. It was filled with books that transported me across time and space, from ancient worlds to futuristic galaxies. Her love for knowledge and storytelling sparked my own passion for literature and the belief that books can change lives. Inspired by this legacy, I founded C2C, an initiative aimed at providing underserved children in Africa with access to books.

Through this effort, I hope to show them that their dreams - whether they are about exploring the world, inventing, or even reaching the stars - are within their grasp.

Academically, my journey has taken me to Scotland's University of Edinburgh, where I studied for a year, and now to George Washington University, where I am pursuing a degree in English Language & Literature, paired with a minor in Astrophysics. These fields reflect my dual passion: the power of words and the vastness of the universe. My goal is to work in publishing, creating and sharing stories that inspire others, just as the books in my childhood home shaped me.

Like the children I donate books to, I am reaching for the stars - both figuratively, through the possibility's books unlock, and literally, through my fascination with the cosmos.

As a bilingual artistic fashionista, I’ve always seen the world through a vibrant lens, where colors and creativity are meant to be celebrated. Growing up in the bustling city of Lagos, Nigeria, I was surrounded by an explosion of energy, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit. This dynamic environment taught me early on that the world is full of possibilities waiting to be explored—and that’s exactly what I want to help children discover.
As a founder of C2C, I’ve spent many summers working with underserved children in both Anglo- and Francophone African communities. Through this initiative, I’ve been able to feed their curiosity by donating books and introducing them to the wonders of creativity. But it’s not just about books. We take it a step further by engaging the kids in arts and crafts, transforming a simple piece of paper into a colorful bird through origami, for instance. It’s a chance for them to see beyond the surface and discover new ways to express themselves.
Prior to attending The American University, where I am currently studying, we have shipped over 100,000 books, raised over $100,000, and donated to communities in Nigeria, Ghana, and Togo. But my work doesn’t end with just providing books—I’m passionate about advocating for these children and helping them unlock their potential in ways they never thought possible.
Fashion has always been my creative outlet, but working with kids is my true calling. I want them to feel confident, empowered, and capable of achieving anything they set their minds to. I believe that every child deserves to feel inspired and capable of bringing their dreams to life.

A passionate reader and lover of books, I embarked on my literary journey from an early age and at age 9, I joined a life-changing book club. Growing up in Nigeria, I attended a French language school, but my heart yearned for books in English, and the book club helped quench that thirst. I’ve always been fascinated by exploring different worlds and languages.
I am fluent in both French and Spanish and currently pursing my fourth language, Portuguese. I hope this multilingual skill refines my ability to build connections with characters from all walks of life.
As a founder of C2C, one of my proudest achievements is commissioning the Alice Abrokwa Appiah Library in honor of my great-grandmother, the first female teacher at Kukurantumi Presbyterian Basic School, Ghana. This library, home to over 20,000 books, serves as a beacon of knowledge for the children of Kukurantumi and surrounding communities. With the establishment of a 10-member board, we are committed to ensuring the library's sustainability and the continued value of the books we’ve donated.
Currently, I am studying International Affairs at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., with aspirations to make a meaningful impact in the world. One of my all-time favorite books is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, a captivating story that, like many others, has deepened my appreciation for the power of storytelling.

I am passionate about C2C because I want to give back to the communities I grew up in (Ghana, Nigeria). Education rates in Africa are low and as a founder of C2C, I would like to help change that, one child at a time.

I’m currently studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech, and after completing my degree, I plan to attend medical school to become a doctor. I’m excited about the opportunity to apply my technical knowledge in healthcare, particularly in areas like genetics and pharmaceuticals.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, and one of my current favorite books is Beach Read by Emily Henry. It’s a charming romance between two writers who challenge each other to grow and change, with a perfect mix of humor and emotional depth.
What I love most about books is how they allow me to escape into different worlds, explore complex emotions, and gain new perspectives on life and relationships. Whether it’s fiction or nonfiction, books broaden my understanding of the world, and I appreciate how they can be both entertaining and thought-provoking.
